Our Cottage Bacon is cut from the hog's shoulder, then cured and smoked just like pork belly to make bacon. Each wide, slab-style slice fills the bun of a BLT or breakfast sandwich giving you a meatier bite. To prepare, pan fry or bake to desired crispiness. Compared to traditional bacon, Cottage Bacon has more meat and less fat, so when cooked it will be more meaty & chewy and less crunchy.
Our Blue Silo Pork begins with hogs sourced direct from local producers and hand-fed on our farm to finish using a corn ration, a complex flavor you're family's sure to notice at the dinnertable. Our hogs enjoy fans and shade in the summer and extra bedding in the cold winter months in specially designed pens we can clean out to minimize disease and flies.
Each package contains approximately 7-10 slices of Cottage Bacon. Total package weight ranges from 1-2 lb. You will be charged for the exact weight of the package you receive.
